泰州职业技术学院坐落在泰州市国家级医药高新区——中国医药城，是1998年3月经原国家教委批准建立的公办普通高校，也是江苏省第一所冠以“职业技术学院”名称的院校。学校办学历史可追溯至1958年成立的泰州医学专科学校，1985年三所行业局办职工大学合并为泰州市职工大学，1998年正式组建为泰州职业技术学院，隶属于泰州市人民政府。

Taizhou Polytechnic College is located in the National Medical High-tech Zone (China Medical City) of Taizhou. Established in March 1998 with the approval of the former State Education Commission, it is a public ordinary college and the first institution in Jiangsu Province to be named "Polytechnic College". Its educational history dates back to Taizhou Medical College founded in 1958. In 1985, three industry-run worker universities merged to form Taizhou Workers' University, and in 1998, it was officially reorganized into Taizhou Polytechnic College, affiliated to the Taizhou Municipal People's Government.

学院是教育部人才培养工作水平评估优秀等级院校、江苏省示范性高职院校建设单位，荣获“江苏省文明校园”“江苏省高等学校和谐校园”“江苏省园林式学校”等称号。校园占地1060亩，建筑面积33万平方米，设有机电技术学院、医学技术学院、经济与管理学院等7院2部，开设35个专业，其中国家重点建设专业2个、省级重点专业群3个、省级特色专业5个。现有教职工670人，全日制在校生近万人，建有国家级实训中心、省级工程技术研究中心等教学科研平台，与233家企事业单位共建实习就业基地，形成了以工程技术、医疗卫生、经济管理为特色的高职教育体系。

The college has been awarded "Excellent" in the talent training evaluation by the Ministry of Education and is a construction unit for示范性 higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu. It has also received titles such as "Civilized Campus of Jiangsu Province", "Harmonious Campus of Jiangsu Colleges and Universities", and "Garden-style School of Jiangsu Province". Covering an area of 1,060 mu with a building area of 330,000 square meters, it comprises 7 schools and 2 departments, offering 35 majors including 2 national key construction majors, 3 provincial key professional groups, and 5 provincial characteristic majors. With 670 faculty members and nearly 10,000 full-time students, it has built national-level training centers, provincial engineering technology research centers, and other teaching-research platforms, and established internship and employment bases with 233 enterprises and institutions, forming a higher vocational education system featuring engineering technology, medical and health care, and economic management.
