江阴职业技术学院是江苏省江阴市唯一一所公办普通高职院校，坐落于长江下游经济发达的江南名城江阴。学院前身为1979年成立的江阴纺织职工大学，历经多次整合与发展，于2002年正式更名为江阴职业技术学院。学校占地695亩，建筑面积近21万平方米，各类教学科研仪器设备总值近9000万元，设有11个教学单位，开设40余个紧贴地方产业需求的专业，其中电气自动化技术、现代纺织技术等专业为教育部、财政部重点支持建设专业，机械制造与自动化、软件与服务外包专业群为江苏省重点建设专业群。

Jiangyin Polytechnic College is the only public vocational college in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, located in the economically developed Jiangnan city of Jiangyin in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Formerly known as Jiangyin Textile Workers' University founded in 1979, the college was officially renamed Jiangyin Polytechnic College in 2002 after several integrations and developments. Covering an area of 695 mu with a building area of nearly 210,000 square meters, the college has teaching and research equipment worth nearly 90 million yuan. It consists of 11 teaching units and offers over 40 majors closely aligned with local industrial needs, including key majors supported by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance such as Electrical Automation Technology and Modern Textile Technology, as well as provincial key construction major groups like Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, and Software and Service Outsourcing.

学院秉持“立足江阴，根植企业”的办学定位，以培养具有“现代班组长”潜质的技术技能人才为目标，形成了“定向招生、双向培养、工学结合、顶岗实践”的特色育人模式。目前在校生近8000人，教职工519人，中高级职称教师占专任教师70%以上。学校与江阴40余家大型企业合作创办近50个企业冠名班，毕业生就业率连续多年保持98%以上，80%左右在江阴本地就业，30%以上成为企业中层管理或技术骨干，被誉为“江阴企业高技能人才培养的摇篮”。2004年，国务院总理温家宝视察学院时对其办学成果给予高度评价；2005年，《光明日报》头版头条专题报道学院“班组长型人才培养”模式。

Adhering to the school-running orientation of "Based in Jiangyin, Rooted in Enterprises", the college aims to cultivate technical and skilled talents with the potential of "modern team leaders", forming a distinctive education model featuring "targeted enrollment, two-way training, work-integrated learning, and internship practice". Currently, it has nearly 8,000 students and 519 faculty members, with over 70% of full-time teachers holding medium or senior professional titles. The college has collaborated with more than 40 large enterprises in Jiangyin to establish nearly 50 enterprise-named classes. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 98% for many years, with about 80% employed locally in Jiangyin and over 30% becoming middle-level managers or technical backbones in enterprises, known as "the cradle of high-skilled talents for Jiangyin enterprises". In 2004, Premier Wen Jiabao inspected the college and highly praised its educational achievements; in 2005, "Guangming Daily" featured a front-page headline story on the college's "team leader talent cultivation" model.
