江苏财经职业技术学院是2004年7月15日经江苏省人民政府批准、国家教育部备案，由原江苏省淮阴财经学校和江苏省淮海工业贸易学校两所国家级重点中专校合并组建的全日制普通高等学校。学校隶属于省教育厅，其前身为分别创建于1964年的江苏省淮阴财经学校（原淮阴地区会计职业学校）和1979年的江苏省淮海工业贸易学校，两校合并前均为行业主管的国家级重点中专。

Jiangsu Vocational College of Finance and Economics is a full-time public higher education institution approved by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government on July 15, 2004 and registered with the Ministry of Education. It was formed by merging two national key secondary vocational schools: the former Jiangsu Huaiyin Finance and Economics School and Jiangsu Huaihai Industry and Trade School. Affiliated to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the college traces its roots to Huaiyin Regional Accounting Vocational School (founded 1964, later renamed Jiangsu Huaiyin Finance and Economics School) and Jiangsu Huaiyin Grain Technical School (founded 1979, later renamed Jiangsu Huaihai Industry and Trade School), both formerly key vocational schools under industry administration.

学校以“融美于教、以育铸匠”为育人理念，是省级示范性高等职业院校、江苏省中国特色高水平高职学校建设单位，江苏财经职业教育集团理事长单位。学校聚焦财经商贸、智能工程、粮食食品等领域，构建了“传统文化+专业实践+美育熏陶”的育人体系，开设会计、国际贸易、大数据技术、粮食工程技术等特色专业，注重实践教学与行业需求对接，培养具有人文素养和工匠精神的技术技能人才。

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Integrating Aesthetics into Teaching, Cultivating Craftsmen through Education", the college is a provincial demonstration vocational college, a construction unit for Jiangsu Provincial High-level Vocational School with Chinese Characteristics, and the chair unit of Jiangsu Finance and Economics Vocational Education Group. Focusing on finance & trade, intelligent engineering, and food industry, it has developed an education system integrating traditional culture, professional practice, and aesthetic education.
