Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) is a leading higher education institution for science and engineering in Iran, located in the Narmak area of northeastern Tehran. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Governmental Technical Institute founded in 1929, which underwent several developments and name changes before being officially granted university status in 1978. As Iran's first higher education institution dedicated to training engineers, the university's main campus covers 42 acres and boasts comprehensive teaching and research facilities, including multiple colleges, advanced laboratories, a central library, student dormitories, and sports venues, providing an excellent learning and living environment for students.

该校在伊朗国内享有极高的学术声誉，常年位居伊朗技术类大学前三名，在2024年QS世界大学排名中位列第451位。IUST设有14个学院和部门，涵盖工程、科学、技术等多个领域，提供本科、硕士及博士层次的教育，其王牌专业包括材料科学与工程、冶金工程、交通工程、计算机科学与技术等。值得一提的是，该校是中东地区唯一设有铁路工程学院和进步工程学院的大学，同时也是伊朗国内唯一拥有汽车工程学院的学府，在相关领域的教学与科研实力雄厚。

The university enjoys an extremely high academic reputation in Iran, consistently ranking among the top three technical universities in the country, and was ranked 451st in the QS World University Rankings 2024. IUST has 14 faculties and departments covering multiple fields such as engineering, science, and technology, offering education at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. Its flagship programs include Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology. Notably, it is the only university in the Middle East with a School of Railway Engineering and a School of Progress Engineering, and also the only university in Iran with a School of Automotive Engineering, boasting strong teaching and research capabilities in related fields.
