湖州职业技术学院是一所由湖州市人民政府主办、经浙江省人民政府批准成立的全日制公办高职院校。学校位于长三角中心区域、太湖南岸、国家历史文化名城、全国生态文明先行示范区——浙江湖州。前身为1979年创建的嘉兴供销技工学校、嘉兴粮食技工学校、浙江电大嘉兴分校，1999年开始高等职业教育办学。校园占地面积601亩，建筑面积26万平方米，具有典型的江南地域特色和浓郁人文气息。

Huzhou Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public vocational college sponsored by the Huzhou Municipal People's Government and approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. Located in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province—a national historical and cultural city and a national demonstration zone for ecological civilization, on the southern bank of Taihu Lake in the central Yangtze River Delta region. Its predecessor was founded in 1979 as Jiaxing Supply and Marketing Technical School, Jiaxing Grain Technical School, and Zhejiang Radio and TV University Jiaxing Branch, starting higher vocational education in 1999. The campus covers an area of 601 mu (40.07 hectares) with a building area of 260,000 square meters, featuring typical Jiangnan regional characteristics and a strong humanistic atmosphere.

学校下设10个二级学院，全日制在校学生1.2万余人，教职工700余人，其中高级职称202人，硕博士教师589人（博士115人），双师素质专业教师占比90%以上。开设34个高职专业，构建工业过程自动化技术（绿色智造）、旅游管理（乡村旅游）等6+N专业群，拥有中央财政重点支持建设专业2个、教育部骨干专业4个、省双高建设专业群1个。获国家级教学成果奖1项，省级教学成果奖8项，国家级精品课程9门，省级精品课程24门。

The college has 10 secondary colleges, with over 12,000 full-time students and more than 700 faculty members, including 202 with senior professional titles, 589 teachers with master's or doctoral degrees (115 doctors), and over 90% of professional teachers with dual-qualification. It offers 34 higher vocational programs, constructing 6+N professional groups such as Industrial Process Automation Technology (Green Intelligent Manufacturing) and Tourism Management (Rural Tourism). It has 2 central finance-supported key construction majors, 4 backbone majors of the Ministry of Education, and 1 provincial double-high construction professional group. The college has won 1 national teaching achievement award, 8 provincial teaching achievement awards, 9 national excellent courses, and 24 provincial excellent courses.

学校是教育部高职高专人才培养工作优秀学校、全国精神文明建设先进单位、教育部中德先进职业教育合作项目首批试点院校、浙江省双高建设单位。2023年启动建设占地面积1200亩、总建筑面积约60万平方米的“最美山地大学”新校园，致力于打造集教学、培训、技能鉴定和技术研发于一体的现代化职业教育基地。

It is an excellent school for talent cultivation in higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education, an advanced unit of national spiritual civilization construction, one of the first pilot institutions for Sino-German advanced vocational education cooperation projects of the Ministry of Education, and a Zhejiang Provincial Double-High Construction Unit. In 2023, the construction of a new "Most Beautiful Mountain University" campus covering 1200 mu (80 hectares) with a total construction area of about 600,000 square meters was initiated, aiming to build a modern vocational education base integrating teaching, training, skill appraisal, and technological research and development.
