河南地矿职业学院是经河南省人民政府批准、国家教育部备案，以国土资源类专业人才培养为主的公办全日制普通高校，隶属河南省教育厅管理，是我国中部和中西部唯一以地矿命名的高等职业院校。学校始建于1956年，历经郑州地质学校、郑州工业贸易学校等历史沿革，2018年5月正式成立河南地矿职业学院，办学历史悠久，社会影响深远。

Henan Geology and Mineral Vocational College is a public full-time ordinary college approved by the People's Government of Henan Province and registered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, focusing on talent cultivation in国土资源-related fields. Affiliated to the Department of Education of Henan Province, it is the only higher vocational college named after geology and minerals in central and western China. Founded in 1956, the college has gone through historical evolutions such as Zhengzhou Geological School and Zhengzhou Industry and Trade School, and was officially established as Henan Geology and Mineral Vocational College in May 2018, with a long history of running the school and far-reaching social influence.

学校位于河南省郑州市郑东新区，总占地面积近400亩，建筑面积16.15万平方米，教学仪器设备总值5722.45万元，图书馆藏书36.99万册，拥有各类实习实训室139个，并在登封世界地质公园建有可容纳千名学生的野外实习基地。学校设置9个教学单位，开设水文与工程地质、地质调查与矿产普查、宝玉石鉴定与加工等32个专业，形成以地质矿产类专业为主体，经济管理类、电子信息类专业为补充的专业格局，面向全国招生，全日制在校高职学生近12000人。

The college is located in Zhengdong New District, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, covering a total area of nearly 400 mu, with a building area of 161,500 square meters. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 57.2245 million yuan, the library has 369,900 books, and there are 139 various internship and training rooms. A field internship base capable of accommodating 1,000 students is built in Dengfeng World Geopark. The college has 9 teaching units, offering 32 majors such as Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, Geological Survey and Mineral Census, and Gem Identification and Processing, forming a professional pattern with geological and mineral majors as the main body, supplemented by economic management and electronic information majors. It enrolls students nationwide, with nearly 12,000 full-time vocational college students.

学校秉持“厚德强技，立足地矿，服务地方”的办学理念，传承发扬地质人“三光荣”“四特别”精神，师资力量雄厚，现有专任教师369人，其中副教授以上职称77人，硕士以上学位210人，“双师型”教师187人。近年来获国家级教育教学奖励1项，省级特等奖1项、一等奖29项，毕业生就业率保持在95%以上，已向社会输送近五万名优秀人才，培养了包括原国土资源部副部长汪民等在内的大批行业领军人物和管理人才，是一所行业特色鲜明的高水平职业院校。

Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "Virtue and Skills, Based on Geology and Minerals, Serving the Local", the college inherits and carries forward the "Three Honors" and "Four Specials" spirit of geologists. It has a strong faculty, with 369 full-time teachers, including 77 with associate senior titles or above, 210 with master's degrees or above, and 187 "double-qualified" teachers. In recent years, it has won 1 national education and teaching award, 1 provincial special prize, and 29 provincial first prizes. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 95%. It has delivered nearly 50,000 outstanding talents to the society, cultivating a large number of industry leaders and management talents including Wang Min, former Vice Minister of Land and Resources, and is a high-level vocational college with distinct industry characteristics.
