常州信息职业技术学院隶属于江苏省工业和信息化厅，是全国首家、江苏唯一的信息类国家示范性高职院校，入选中国特色高水平高职学校建设单位、江苏省高水平高等职业院校建设单位。学校创办于1962年，初名常州市勤业机电学校，1980年更名为常州无线电工业学校，2000年10月经江苏省人民政府批准由常州无线电工业学校和常州市电子职工大学合并组建成立。

Changzhou College of Information Technology is affiliated to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. It is the first national demonstration higher vocational college of information in China and the only one in Jiangsu Province. It has been selected as a construction unit of China's high-level vocational schools with distinctive features and a construction unit of Jiangsu Provincial high-level higher vocational colleges. Founded in 1962, the school was initially named Changzhou Qinye Electromechanical School. In 1980, it was renamed Changzhou Radio Industry School. In October 2000, it was merged and established by Changzhou Radio Industry School and Changzhou Electronic Workers' University with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government.

学校现有在校生10000余人，设有软件与大数据学院、网络空间安全学院等8个二级学院和4个教学部。作为国家示范性软件职业技术学院、国家软件与信息服务外包人才培养基地、国家高技能人才培养基地，学校秉承“厚德勤业”校训，坚持“立足信息产业、培养数智人才、服务数字经济”办学理念，在专业群建设、产教融合、智慧教学等方面特色明显，为社会培养了大批高素质技术技能人才。

The school currently has more than 10,000 students and has 8 secondary colleges including the School of Software and Big Data, the School of Cyberspace Security, and 4 teaching departments. As a national demonstration software vocational and technical college, a national software and information service outsourcing talent training base, and a national high-skilled talent training base, the school adheres to the school motto of "Houde Qinye" (Virtue and Diligence) and the school-running philosophy of "Based on the information industry, cultivating digital intelligence talents, and serving the digital economy".
