常州机电职业技术学院是一所省属公办全日制普通高等学校，隶属于江苏省教育厅。学校创办于1963年，原名常州市机械职业学校，2002年6月独立升格，现坐落于常州科教城。2010年获批为国家示范性（骨干）高职院校，2018年获批为江苏省高水平高职院校，2019年获批为中国特色高水平高职学校建设单位，2024年高质量完成国家首轮双高计划建设项目验收，2025年入选国家第二期双高计划建设项目。

Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution affiliated to the Education Department of Jiangsu Province. Founded in 1963 as Changzhou Machinery Vocational School, it was independently upgraded in June 2002 and is now located in Changzhou Science and Education City. In 2010, it was approved as a national demonstration (backbone) higher vocational college; in 2018, it was approved as a high-level higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province; in 2019, it was approved as a construction unit for China's characteristic high-level vocational schools; in 2024, it successfully completed the acceptance of the first round of national "Double High Plan" construction projects with high quality; and in 2025, it was selected into the second round of national "Double High Plan" construction projects.
