常州工业职业技术学院是由江苏省人民政府举办的公办全日制普通高等学校，前身为创办于1958年的常州轻工职业技术学院，2018年10月经江苏省人民政府批准更名为现用名。学校是江苏省示范性高职院校、教育部1+X证书制度试点院校、教育部第一批现代学徒制试点项目建设单位，拥有60余年行业特色办学历史，以培养高素质技术技能人才为核心，聚焦装备制造、电子信息、财经商贸等专业领域，现有全日制在校生一万五千余人，教职工800余人，副高以上职称比例近40%。

Changzhou Institute of Industry Technology is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution run by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. Its predecessor was Changzhou Vocational Institute of Light Industry founded in 1958, and it was renamed to its current name with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government in October 2018. The college is a demonstration higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province, a pilot institution for the Ministry of Education's 1+X certificate system, and a pilot project construction unit for the first batch of modern apprenticeship systems of the Ministry of Education. With more than 60 years of industry-specific school-running history, it focuses on cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents, focusing on professional fields such as equipment manufacturing, electronic information, and finance and trade. It currently has more than 15,000 full-time students and more than 800 faculty members, with nearly 40% of them having associate senior titles or above.

学校秉承“诚信、笃实、勤俭、创新”的校训，坚持“质量立校、人才强校、特色兴校、依法治校”的办学理念，构建了“五育并举”的培养体系，设有材料工程学院、机械与交通学院等7个二级学院及多个直属教学单位，开设58个专业，覆盖10余个专业大类。近年来荣获全国高职高专育人成效50强、国际影响力50强、江苏省文明单位等多项荣誉，在软科2023中国高职高专院校排行榜中位列全国第84位、江苏省第13位，连续五年在省属高校高质量发展综合考核中获第一等次。

Adhering to the school motto of "Integrity, Diligence, Frugality, and Innovation", the college adheres to the school-running philosophy of "Establishing the school with quality, strengthening the school with talents, prospering the school with characteristics, and governing the school according to law", and has built a training system of "simultaneous development of five educations". It has 7 secondary colleges including the School of Materials Engineering, the School of Mechanical and Transportation Engineering, and multiple directly affiliated teaching units, offering 58 majors covering more than 10 professional categories. In recent years, it has won many honors such as Top 50 National Higher Vocational Colleges for Educational Effectiveness, Top 50 International Influence, and Civilized Unit of Jiangsu Province. In the 2023 Soft Science China Higher Vocational College Rankings, it ranked 84th in the country and 13th in Jiangsu Province, and has won the first grade in the comprehensive assessment of high-quality development of provincial colleges and universities for five consecutive years.
