安徽水利水电职业技术学院始建于1952年，前身为水利部淮河水利专科学校，2000年经安徽省人民政府批准正式成立，是隶属省水利厅的公办全日制普通高校。学校是国家示范性高职院校、国家优质专科高等职业院校、中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划（“双高计划”）建设单位，也是全国首批优质水利高等职业院校、教育部现代学徒制试点学校。

Anhui Water Conservancy Technical College was founded in 1952, formerly known as the Huaihe River Conservancy College of the Ministry of Water Resources. Approved by the People's Government of Anhui Province in 2000, it is a public full-time ordinary college affiliated to the Anhui Provincial Department of Water Resources. The college is a national demonstration higher vocational college, a national high-quality junior college, a construction unit of the "Double High-Level Plan" (China's特色高水平高职学校 and专业建设计划), and one of the first batch of national high-quality water conservancy higher vocational colleges and a pilot school of the Ministry of Education's modern apprenticeship system.

学校坐落于安徽省省会合肥市，校园占地1040亩，现有专兼职教师约700人，其中教授、副教授等高级职称近200人，双师型教师443人。开设水利水电建筑工程、市政工程技术、机电一体化技术等53个专业，形成以工程类专业为主体的专业格局，其中国家级示范重点建设专业6个。在校普通全日制学生约15000人，成人本专科在校生约3000人，累计培养各类专门人才8万多人。

Located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, the college covers an area of 1040 mu. It has about 700 full-time and part-time teachers, including nearly 200 with senior titles such as professors and associate professors, and 443 double-qualified teachers. It offers 53 majors including Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, Municipal Engineering Technology, and Mechatronics Technology, forming a professional pattern dominated by engineering majors, among which 6 are national demonstration key construction majors. There are about 15,000 full-time students and 3,000 adult undergraduates and junior college students, with a total of more than 80,000 professionals trained.

学校荣获全国职业教育先进单位、全国水利系统文明单位、安徽省文明单位、安徽省普通高校毕业生就业工作标兵单位等称号，2019年入选全国高职高专院校竞争力100强，2020年获批教育部全国职业院校校园文化“一校一品”学校，2023年“双高计划”建设中期绩效评价获教育部“优秀”等级。

The college has been awarded titles such as National Advanced Unit in Vocational Education, National Civilized Unit in Water Conservancy System, Anhui Provincial Civilized Unit, and Anhui Provincial Model Unit for Graduate Employment. In 2019, it was selected into the top 100 national higher vocational colleges in competitiveness. In 2020, it was approved as a "One School, One Product" school for campus culture by the Ministry of Education. In 2023, it received an "Excellent" rating in the mid-term performance evaluation of the "Double High-Level Plan" construction by the Ministry of Education.
