安徽交通职业技术学院始建于1956年，前身是安徽交通学校，1958年升格为安徽交通学院（本科），1988年经教育部批准设置安徽大学交通分校，2001年由安徽大学交通分校和安徽交通学校合并组建成安徽交通职业技术学院，是全省唯一一所具有鲜明交通行业特色的高职院校。学校秉承“经世致用、实学报国”的办学理念，坚持“立足交通、服务行业、面向社会”的办学定位，校企合作，产学互动，孕育了“勤奋、通达、敬业、乐群”的优良校风，为安徽经济发展和交通运输行业培养、培训了11万余名高素质技术技能人才。

Anhui Communications Vocational & Technical College was founded in 1956, formerly known as Anhui Communications School. It was upgraded to Anhui Communications College (undergraduate) in 1958, and approved by the Ministry of Education to establish Anhui University Communications Branch in 1988. In 2001, it was merged with Anhui University Communications Branch and Anhui Communications School to form Anhui Communications Vocational & Technical College, which is the only higher vocational college with distinct transportation industry characteristics in the province. Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "applying knowledge to the world and serving the country with practical learning", the college adheres to the school-running orientation of "based on transportation, serving the industry and facing the society", carries out school-enterprise cooperation and industry-teaching interaction, and has cultivated the fine school spirit of "diligence, accessibility, dedication and gregariousness", having trained more than 110,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents for Anhui's economic development and transportation industry.

学校现为教育部汽车类技能型紧缺人才培养培训基地、国防部、教育部确定为安徽省唯一一所武警定向培养士官院校、省级专业技术人员培训基地、高职高专教师和建筑工程双师素质培训基地、安徽省退役军人培训基地，是安徽交通运输行业的高等教育基地、应用技术科研基地，享有“安徽交通黄埔”的美誉。学校是安徽省首批省级示范院校，2014年建成国家骨干高职院校，2019年立项建设安徽省技能型高水平大学，2024年立项建设省级“双高”校“双特”校。学校地处江淮大地、科创名城，占地1000余亩，在校生14000余人，教职工540余人，其中享受国务院政府特殊津贴1人，获得吴福-振华奖9人，安徽省五一劳动奖章2人，安徽省技术能手4人，省级教学名师、教坛新秀27人，省部级及以上优秀教学团队11个，技能大师工作室、名师工作室10个。

The college is now a training base for skilled talents in automotive category of the Ministry of Education, the only military academy for定向 training of armed police in Anhui Province designated by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Education, a provincial training base for professional and technical personnel, a training base for double-qualified teachers of higher vocational colleges and architectural engineering, and a training base for retired military personnel in Anhui Province. It is the higher education base and applied technology research base of Anhui transportation industry, enjoying the reputation of "Anhui Transportation Whampoa". The college is one of the first provincial demonstration colleges in Anhui Province. It was built into a national backbone higher vocational college in 2014, approved to build an Anhui skilled high-level university in 2019, and approved to build a provincial "double-high" university and "double-special" university in 2024. Located in the land of Jianghuai and the famous scientific and innovative city, the college covers an area of more than 1,000 mu, with more than 14,000 students and more than 540 faculty members, including 1 person enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, 9 people winning the Wu Fu-Zhenhua Award, 2 people winning the Anhui May 1 Labor Medal, 4 Anhui technical experts, 27 provincial teaching masters and new teaching talents, 11 excellent teaching teams at or above the provincial level, and 10 skill master studios and famous teacher studios.

学校围绕交通运输行业产业链，已形成路、海、空、轨、车、邮现代综合交通专业集群发展体系。目前拥有国家级重点专业4个，省部级重点专业7个、特色专业14个；中央财政支持专业2个，国家级骨干专业6个，省级特色专业14个，省级优势专业7个，数量居全省高职院校前列。航海技术与轮机工程技术两个专业全省唯一。2010年在省内率先开办轨道交通类专业，填补了安徽省城市轨道交通人才培养的空白。学校是中国职业技术教育学会理事单位，中国交通运输职业教育集团副理事长单位，全国高等职业学校校长联席会议主席团单位，同时也是教育部现代学徒制试点单位、安徽省校企合作示范基地。与50余家行业龙头企业共建产业学院、人才培养基地等，覆盖专业比例83%，企业深度参与专业共建。

Focusing on the industrial chain of the transportation industry, the college has formed a modern comprehensive transportation professional cluster development system covering road, sea, air, rail, vehicle and postal services. At present, it has 4 national key majors, 7 provincial and ministerial key majors, 14 characteristic majors, 2 majors supported by central finance, 6 national backbone majors, 14 provincial characteristic majors and 7 provincial advantageous majors, ranking among the top in higher vocational colleges in the province. The two majors of Navigation Technology and Marine Engineering Technology are unique in the province. In 2010, it took the lead in offering rail transit majors in the province, filling the gap in the training of urban rail transit talents in Anhui Province. The college is a director unit of the China Vocational and Technical Education Association, a vice-chairman unit of the China Transportation Vocational Education Group, a presidium unit of the National Joint Conference of Presidents of Higher Vocational Schools, as well as a pilot unit of the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education and a demonstration base for school-enterprise cooperation in Anhui Province. It has jointly built industrial colleges and talent training bases with more than 50 leading enterprises in the industry, covering 83% of the majors, with enterprises deeply participating in professional co-construction.
