榆林学院是一所以工科为主，工、管、文、理、农、法等学科协调发展的省属本科院校，是榆林市唯一省属本科院校。学校从绥德师范走来，办学历史可追溯至1923年，为西北革命根据地的创建与发展做出了特殊而重大的贡献。2003年经教育部批准升格为本科院校，2018年被陕西省确定为一流应用型本科院校建设单位，被教育部确定为硕士学位授权单位。

Yulin University is a provincial undergraduate university dominated by engineering, with coordinated development of disciplines such as engineering, management, liberal arts, science, agriculture, and law. It is the only provincial undergraduate university in Yulin City. The university originated from Suide Normal School, with a history dating back to 1923, making special and significant contributions to the establishment and development of the revolutionary base areas in Northwest China. Approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to an undergraduate university in 2003, it was designated as a first-class applied undergraduate university construction unit by Shaanxi Province and authorized by the Ministry of Education to grant master's degrees in 2018.

学校现有榆阳、绥德和科创新城三个校区，设有16个二级学院，52个在招本科专业，全日制在校生15000余人，其中硕士研究生450余人。学校坚持“扎根榆林、研究榆林、服务榆林、贡献榆林”的定位，围绕能源化工、生态治理等区域特色产业，形成了能源化工、水土保持与荒漠化防治等优势学科方向，为国家输送各类人才10万余名。

The university currently has three campuses: Yuyang, Suide, and Science and Innovation New City, with 16 secondary colleges and 52 undergraduate majors. It has over 15,000 full-time students, including more than 450 master's students. Adhering to the orientation of "taking root in Yulin, researching Yulin, serving Yulin, and contributing to Yulin", the university has formed advantageous disciplinary directions such as energy chemical engineering, soil and water conservation, and desertification control around regional characteristic industries like energy chemical engineering and ecological governance, having cultivated over 100,000 talents for the country.
