厦门海洋职业技术学院坐落于福建厦门市，是一所公办综合类专科（高职）院校。学校由著名爱国华侨领袖陈嘉庚先生于1920年创办，历经集美学校水产科、集美高级水产航海学校、集美水产专科学校、福建省集美水产学校（国家级重点中专）等办学阶段，是我国最早培养水产航海技术人才的摇篮之一。2000年4月，时任福建省省长的习近平同志为学校题词“春风化雨桃李满园”，对学校的建设和发展寄予厚望。

Xiamen Ocean Vocational and Technical College is located in Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It is a public comprehensive college (higher vocational) institution. Founded in 1920 by the famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee, the college has gone through several stages of development, including the Fisheries Department of Jimei School, Jimei Advanced Fisheries and Navigation School, Jimei Fisheries Junior College, and Fujian Jimei Fisheries School (a national key secondary school). It is one of the earliest cradles in China for cultivating aquatic and navigation technical talents. In April 2000, Comrade Xi Jinping, then Governor of Fujian Province, inscribed "Spring Breeze Transforms Rain, Peaches and Plums Fill the Garden" for the college, expressing high hopes for its construction and development.

在百年办学历程中，学校以“诚毅”为校训，弘扬嘉庚精神，为国家和福建海洋事业培养了大批高素质的技术技能人才，优秀校友遍及全国各地和世界五洲，在海内外享有广泛声誉。现为全国国防教育特色学校、福建省文明校园、福建省平安校园、福建省示范性高职院校、福建省示范性现代职业院校、福建省黄炎培职业教育奖优秀学校、福建省创新创业创造教育示范院校、国家自然科学基金依托单位、福建省“双高计划”建设单位，在2023年校友会网全国高职院校排行榜中，位列全国高职院校Ⅲ类（行业类）第10位，排名蝉联福建省第一。学校现有思明和翔安两个校区，占地面积800余亩，设有航海学院、海洋生物学院、海洋机电学院、信息工程学院、国际商贸学院、海洋文化与旅游学院、海洋工程学院等10个二级学院，开设航海技术、海洋生物技术、轮机工程技术等紧贴海洋经济发展需求的专业。

During its century-long history of running the school, adhering to the school motto of "Sincerity and Perseverance" and carrying forward the Tan Kah Kee spirit, the college has cultivated a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for the national and Fujian marine undertakings. Its outstanding alumni are spread all over the country and five continents of the world, enjoying a wide reputation at home and abroad. Currently, it is a National Defense Education Characteristic School, Fujian Civilized Campus, Fujian Safe Campus, Fujian Demonstrative Higher Vocational College, Fujian Demonstrative Modern Vocational College, Excellent School of Fujian Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award, Fujian Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Demonstration College, a supporting unit of the National Natural Science Foundation, and a construction unit of Fujian "Double High Plan". In the 2023 Alumni Network National Higher Vocational College Rankings, it ranked 10th in the national higher vocational colleges Category III (industry category) and remained first in Fujian Province. The college currently has two campuses, Siming and Xiang'an, covering an area of more than 800 mu. It has 10 secondary colleges such as the School of Navigation, School of Marine Biology, School of Marine Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Information Engineering, School of International Business, School of Marine Culture and Tourism, and School of Marine Engineering, offering majors such as Navigation Technology, Marine Biotechnology, and Marine Engineering Technology that closely meet the needs of marine economic development.
