文华学院前身是2003年5月经教育部批准设立的华中科技大学文华学院，由武汉美联地产有限公司与华中科技大学共同举办。2014年5月，学校转设为独立设置的民办普通本科学校并更名为文华学院。学校位于武汉东湖新技术开发区武汉·中国光谷腹地，毗邻东湖风景区，校园占地面积1340亩，建筑总面积53.26万平方米，绿树成荫，红枫成林，被誉为“武汉颜值最高的十所大学之一”。

Wenhua College, formerly known as Wenhua College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was approved by the Ministry of Education in May 2003. It was co-founded by Wuhan Meilian Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In May 2014, the college was transformed into an independent private ordinary undergraduate school and renamed Wenhua College. Located in the hinterland of Wuhan·China Optics Valley in Wuhan East Lake New Technology Development Zone, adjacent to the scenic East Lake Scenic Area, the campus covers an area of 1,340 mu with a total building area of 532,600 square meters. It is shaded by green trees and lined with red maples, known as "one of the ten most beautiful universities in Wuhan".

学校以建设高水平应用型大学为定位，立足湖北、服务中部、辐射全国，培养面向生产服务第一线的高素质应用型人才。现有普通全日制在校学生14000余人，设置本科专业39个、专科专业10个，涵盖工、管、文、法、经、艺术6大学科门类。师资力量雄厚，800余名专任教师中副高级以上职称者占353人，博士、硕士学位教师占比74.9%，双师型教师占40.8%，共享华中科技大学优质教育资源。

The college is positioned to build a high-level application-oriented university, based in Hubei, serving the central region and radiating the whole country, cultivating high-quality application-oriented talents for the front line of production and service. Currently, it has more than 14,000 full-time students, offering 39 undergraduate majors and 10 junior college majors, covering 6 disciplines including engineering, management, liberal arts, law, economics and art. It boasts strong faculty strength: among over 800 full-time teachers, 353 have associate senior titles or above, 74.9% have doctoral or master's degrees, and 40.8% are double-qualified teachers, sharing high-quality educational resources of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
