V.N.卡拉津哈尔科夫国立大学是乌克兰历史最悠久的公立大学之一，成立于1804年，由教育家V.N.卡拉津推动并经沙皇亚历山大一世批准建校，是俄罗斯沙皇敕造的五所大学之一。作为乌克兰高等教育与科研的旗舰学府，该校以深厚的学术传统和杰出的人才培养著称，是乌克兰唯一培养出三位诺贝尔奖得主（生物学家米奇尼科夫、物理学家朗道夫、经济学家库兹涅茨）的大学，自建校以来已培养超13万名毕业生，其中约60人成为乌克兰科学院院士。

V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is one of the oldest public universities in Ukraine, founded in 1804. Initiated by educator V.N. Karazin and approved by Tsar Alexander I, it is one of the five universities established by the Russian Tsarist decree. As a flagship institution of higher education and scientific research in Ukraine, the university is renowned for its profound academic traditions and outstanding talent cultivation. It is the only university in Ukraine that has produced three Nobel laureates: biologist Ilya Mechnikov, physicist Lev Landau, and economist Simon Kuznets. Since its founding, it has educated over 130,000 graduates, with approximately 60 becoming academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The university boasts a comprehensive disciplinary system covering natural sciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry, economics, literature, law, medicine, and other fields. It comprises 18 colleges and over 100 departments, with approximately 12,000 undergraduates, 400 master's students, and more than 2,000 faculty members (including 200 professors and over 800 associate professors). Renowned for its strength in natural sciences, it ranked 741-750 in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, with its economics program placing in the top 600 of QS Subject Rankings. Campus facilities include Ukraine's oldest botanical garden (founded in 1804), a natural history museum established in 1807 (housing 250,000 exhibits), and a central scientific library with 3.5 million volumes, making it a key research and educational hub in Eastern Europe.
