Saint Joseph University of Beirut is a long-established private Catholic research university in Lebanon. Founded by the Jesuits in 1875 and located in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, it is one of the most important higher education institutions in the country, typically ranking second among Lebanese universities, just after the American University of Beirut.
