平顶山工业职业技术学院是由国有特大型企业中国平煤神马控股集团主办的普通公办高等职业院校，位于中原经济区重要的能源和重工业基地、历史文化名城平顶山市，是全国文明单位、首批国家示范性高等职业院校、国家级优质高等职业院校。学校前身是1956年创办的平顶山煤矿学校，2001年经河南省人民政府批准、教育部备案，由平顶山煤矿职工大学与平顶山煤炭高级技工学校合并组建。2016年，河南理工大学平煤工程技术学院落户学校，开启应用型本科教育新篇章。

Pingdingshan Industrial College of Technology is a public higher vocational college sponsored by China Pingmei Shenma Holding Group, a large state-owned enterprise. Located in Pingdingshan City—a renowned historical and cultural city as well as an important energy and heavy industry base in the Central Plains Economic Zone—it is a National Civilized Unit, one of the first National Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges, and a National High-Quality Higher Vocational College. Its predecessor, Pingdingshan Coal Mine School, was founded in 1956. In 2001, approved by the Henan Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education, it was restructured through the merger of Pingdingshan Coal Mine Staff University and Pingdingshan Coal Senior Technical School. In 2016, the Pingmei Institute of Engineering and Technology of Henan Polytechnic University was established on its campus, marking a new chapter in applied undergraduate education.

学校现有12个专业群62个专业，其中国家级重点建设专业6个，省级高水平专业群1个，全日制本专科在校生近2万人。专任教师904人中，副高级以上职称211人，硕士以上学位519人，拥有国家级教学成果奖3项、国家级精品课程12门。校区占地1450余亩，建筑面积49.77万平方米，教学仪器设备总值2.13亿元，建有117个产教融合实训基地和120个校外实习基地，其中国家级煤矿安全实训基地、瓦斯防治实验室等实训平台处于行业领先水平。

The college offers 62 majors across 12 professional clusters, including 6 national key construction majors and 1 provincial high-level professional cluster, with nearly 20,000 full-time undergraduate and vocational students. Among its 904 full-time teachers, 211 hold senior professional titles and 519 have master's degrees or above. The college has won 3 National Teaching Achievement Awards and developed 12 national-level quality courses. Covering an area of over 1,450 mu (96.7 hectares) with a building area of 497,700 square meters, it boasts teaching equipment worth 213 million yuan, 117 industry-education integration training bases, and 120 off-campus internship bases. Its national-level coal mine safety training base and gas control laboratory rank among the industry's best.

建校以来，学校累计培养毕业生20余万人，涌现出全国五一劳动奖章获得者、国际技术比武冠军等优秀人才，荣获全国职业教育先进单位、全国毕业生就业工作先进集体等荣誉称号，被誉为"职业教育的航空母舰"。

Since its establishment, the college has cultivated over 200,000 graduates, including National May 1st Labor Medal winners and international technical competition champions. It has been honored as an "Advanced Unit in National Vocational Education" and "National Advanced Collective for Graduate Employment", and is praised as the "Aircraft Carrier of Vocational Education".
