南宁学院前身是中国国民党革命委员会广西壮族自治区委员会于1985年创办的邕江大学，2009年南宁市人民政府参与合作办学，2012年升格为本科高校并更名为南宁学院，2019年通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，2021年获批为广西立项建设新增硕士学位授予单位。学校是国家首批应用技术大学改革试点高校、广西新建本科学校转型发展试点学校、自治区首批深化创新创业教育改革示范高校、自治区首批创新创业学院建设单位、自治区首批大创项目实施优质校、中国工艺美术优秀基地院校。

Nanning University was formerly known as Yongjiang University, founded in 1985 by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. In 2009, the Nanning Municipal People's Government participated in cooperative education. In 2012, it was upgraded to an undergraduate university and renamed Nanning University. In 2019, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education, and in 2021, it was approved as a new master's degree-granting unit in Guangxi. The university is one of the first pilot universities for applied technology university reform in China, a pilot school for the transformation and development of newly-built undergraduate schools in Guangxi, one of the first demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in the autonomous region, one of the first construction units of innovation and entrepreneurship colleges in the autonomous region, one of the first high-quality universities for the implementation of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship projects in the autonomous region, and an excellent base university for Chinese arts and crafts.

学校校园占地面积75.21万平方米，校舍建筑总面积66.43万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值3.009亿元，馆藏纸质图书175.94万册，电子图书258.43万册。建有自治区重点实验室1个、自治区级实验教学中心2个，省部级教学科研平台10个、市厅级教学科研平台15个，校内实验实训室319个、校外实践基地179个。学校荣获第二届自治区文明校园（2020年）、广西首批绿色学校（2022年）等称号，校园内不孤湖景区是国家AAA级旅游景区。

The university covers an area of 752,100 square meters, with a total school building area of 664,300 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 300.9 million yuan, with 1.7594 million paper books and 2.5843 million e-books in the library. It has 1 key laboratory at the autonomous region level, 2 experimental teaching centers at the autonomous region level, 10 teaching and research platforms at the provincial and ministerial level, 15 teaching and research platforms at the municipal and departmental level, 319 on-campus experimental training rooms, and 179 off-campus practice bases. The university has been awarded the title of the Second Autonomous Region Civilized Campus (2020) and the first batch of green schools in Guangxi (2022), and the Buguhu Scenic Area on campus is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

学校以社会需求为导向动态调整学科专业结构，工学为主、多学科协调发展格局初步形成。现有工学、管理学、经济学、艺术学、教育学等5个学科门类，18个一级学科，获批广西重点（培育）学科1个、立项建设硕士点3个。设置专业学院10个，开办本科专业40个，建有广西一流专业建设点4个、自治区重点特色优势专业9个。全日制在校生22598人，折合在校生22684.9人，其中本科生22597人。办学40年来，学校为国家培养了7万余名应用型人才。

Guided by social needs, the university dynamically adjusts the discipline and professional structure, and initially forms a pattern of engineering as the main discipline and multi-disciplinary coordinated development. It currently has 5 disciplines including engineering, management, economics, art, and education, 18 first-level disciplines, 1 key (cultivation) discipline in Guangxi, and 3 master's programs approved for construction. It has 10 professional colleges, offering 40 undergraduate majors, 4 Guangxi first-class professional construction sites, and 9 key characteristic and advantageous majors at the autonomous region level. There are 22,598 full-time students, equivalent to 22,684.9 students, including 22,597 undergraduates. Over the past 40 years of running the school, the university has cultivated more than 70,000 applied talents for the country.

学校坚持人才强校战略，持续建设高水平教师队伍。教师中荣获全国优秀教师、国家有突出贡献中青年专家、自治区级教学名师、自治区模范教师、自治区高层次人才、全国民办高校优秀辅导员、南宁市高层次人才等各类称号286人次。“十四五”以来，教师参加全国高校教师教学创新大赛荣获国家三等奖4项，自治区一等奖5项、二等奖8项、三等奖9项，获自治区级虚拟教研室2个、自治区基层教学组织3个、自治区课程思政示范基层教学组织1个、自治区课程思政教学名师和团队7个，第二批广西高校高水平辅导员工作室培养建设项目2个。

The university adheres to the strategy of strengthening the university with talents and continuously builds a high-level teaching staff. Teachers have won 286 titles such as National Excellent Teachers, National Middle-aged and Young Experts with Outstanding Contributions, Autonomous Region-level Teaching Masters, Autonomous Region Model Teachers, Autonomous Region High-level Talents, National Excellent Counselors of Private Colleges and Universities, and Nanning High-level Talents. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan", teachers have won 4 national third prizes, 5 autonomous region first prizes, 8 second prizes, and 9 third prizes in the National College Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition. They have also obtained 2 autonomous region-level virtual teaching and research offices, 3 autonomous region grass-roots teaching organizations, 1 autonomous region curriculum ideological and political demonstration grass-roots teaching organization, 7 autonomous region curriculum ideological and political teaching masters and teams, and 2 training and construction projects of high-level counselor studios in Guangxi colleges and universities in the second batch.

学校坚持开放办学，不断深化国内外交流与合作。与国内10所高校发起成立应用型高校“不孤联盟”，与马来西亚、泰国、越南6所高校组建“南宁学院—东盟高校有邻联盟”，推动联盟院校间开展人才培养、学生交流、学术研究与合作等，近300名师生参与校际交换、文化研学、学习进修等活动。与华为、中国工商银行等200余家企业、71所国外院校及机构建立校企、校校合作关系。

The university adheres to open education and continuously deepens domestic and international exchanges and cooperation. It initiated the establishment of the "Bugu Alliance" of applied universities with 10 domestic universities, and formed the "Nanning University - ASEAN Universities Youlin Alliance" with 6 universities in Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, promoting talent training, student exchanges, academic research and cooperation among alliance institutions. Nearly 300 teachers and students have participated in inter-school exchanges, cultural research, study and further education activities. It has established school-enterprise and school-school cooperation relations with more than 200 enterprises such as Huawei and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and 71 foreign colleges and institutions.
