六盘水师范学院坐落于有“中国凉都”之称的贵州省六盘水市，是一所由省政府统筹协调管理、省教育厅主管的全日制普通本科院校。其办学历史始于1978年创办的贵阳师范学院六盘水专科班，历经六盘水师范专科学校、六盘水师范高等专科学校等发展阶段，2009年升格为本科院校并更名为六盘水师范学院。学校以师范为根、以工科为主，是贵州省向应用型转型发展试点院校，2024年管理体制调整为“省管”体制，现有15个二级学院、44个本科专业，涵盖工学、教育学、理学等10个学科门类，全日制在校学生11450余人。

Liupanshui Normal University is located in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, known as "China's Cool Capital". It is a full-time public undergraduate college under the overall coordination and management of the provincial government and supervised by the Provincial Department of Education. Its educational history dates back to the Liupanshui Junior College Class of Guiyang Normal College founded in 1978. It has gone through development stages such as Liupanshui Teachers' College and Liupanshui Teachers' College for Higher Education. In 2009, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Liupanshui Normal University. Rooted in teacher education and focusing on engineering, the university is a pilot institution for transforming to application-oriented development in Guizhou Province. In 2024, its management system was adjusted to the "provincial management" system. Currently, it has 15 secondary colleges and 44 undergraduate majors, covering 10 disciplines including engineering, education, and science, with over 11,450 full-time students.

学校占地面积1310亩，建筑面积近39.55万平方米，与明湖国家湿地公园融为一体，被誉为“贵州最美大学校园”。教学科研仪器设备总值1.59亿元，馆藏图书191.62万册，拥有省级重点实验室、人文社科示范基地等科研平台，承担国家自然科学基金、社会科学基金等各级科研项目1800余项。师资队伍中，正高职称75人、副高职称249人，博士82人，形成了以“厚德、博学、范行、求真”为校训的育人特色，先后荣获“全省文明校园”“全国大中专学生暑期‘三下乡’优秀单位”等称号。

The university covers an area of 1,310 mu with a building area of nearly 395,500 square meters, integrating with Minghu National Wetland Park and known as "Guizhou's Most Beautiful University Campus". The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 159 million yuan, and the library has 1.9162 million books. It has scientific research platforms such as provincial key laboratories and humanities and social sciences demonstration bases, undertaking more than 1,800 scientific research projects at all levels including National Natural Science Foundation and Social Science Foundation projects. Among the faculty, there are 75 professors, 249 associate professors, and 82 doctors. The university has formed an educational characteristic with the school motto of "Houde (Virtue), Boxue (Erudition), Fanxing (Model Behavior), Qiuzhen (Seeking Truth)", and has successively won titles such as "Provincial Civilized Campus" and "National Excellent Unit for College Students' Summer 'Three Goes to the Countryside' Social Practice Activity".
