湖南商务职业技术学院创建于1950年，是由湖南省人民政府举办、湖南省教育厅主管的公办全日制普通高等学校，也是新中国最早设立的商科学校之一。70多年来，学院秉承“强商惠农、强能泽生、强文润校”的办学理念，培养以财经商贸类为主的高素质技术技能型人才。

Hunan Vocational College of Commerce was founded in 1950. It is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution sponsored by the People's Government of Hunan Province and administered by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It is also one of the earliest business schools established in New China. For more than 70 years, the college has adhered to the school-running philosophy of "Strengthening Commerce to Benefit Agriculture, Strengthening Abilities to Benefit Students, and Strengthening Culture to Nourish the School", cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents mainly in the fields of finance and commerce.

学院设有经济贸易学院、会计学院、旅游管理学院、商务信息技术学院、电子商务学院、茶学院（乡村振兴学院）6个二级学院，拥有现代商务专业群、商贸流通专业群、现代旅游管理专业群3个省级一流特色专业群，市场营销、大数据与财务管理2个省楚怡高水平专业群，开设专业29个，在校生近12000人，教职工近500余人，其中高级职称140余人。近5年来，学生荣获技能大赛国赛一等奖2项、二等奖5项，省赛一等奖45项，在湖南省技能抽查中学生合格率均为100%，在省毕业设计抽查中合格率均在95%以上，位居全省前列。

The college has 6 secondary colleges, namely the School of Economics and Trade, the School of Accounting, the School of Tourism Management, the School of Business Information Technology, the School of E-Commerce, and the School of Tea (Rural Revitalization College). It has 3 provincial first-class characteristic professional groups, including the modern business professional group, the commercial circulation professional group, and the modern tourism management professional group, as well as 2 provincial Chuyi high-level professional groups in marketing and big data and financial management. It offers 29 majors, with nearly 12,000 students and more than 500 faculty members, including more than 140 with senior professional titles. In the past 5 years, students have won 2 first prizes and 5 second prizes in national skill competitions, and 45 first prizes in provincial competitions. The pass rate of students in Hunan Provincial skill spot checks is 100%, and the pass rate in provincial graduation design spot checks is above 95%, ranking among the top in the province.

学院是教育部人才培养工作水平评估优秀高职院校、教育部第一批职业院校数字校园建设试点校、全国供销合作总社示范性高职院校、湖南省示范性高职院校、省卓越高职院校、省楚怡高水平高职专业群（A档）建设单位等，被确立为电子商务培训基地、计算机应用与软件技术专业领域技能型紧缺人才培养培训基地等多个省级以上基地。

The college is an excellent higher vocational college evaluated by the Ministry of Education for talent training, one of the first batch of pilot schools for digital campus construction in vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education, a demonstration higher vocational college of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, a demonstration higher vocational college in Hunan Province, an excellent higher vocational college in Hunan Province, a construction unit of provincial Chuyi high-level vocational professional group (Grade A), etc. It has been established as an e-commerce training base, a training base for skilled talents in the field of computer application and software technology, and many other provincial-level and above bases.
