怀化工商职业技术学院是根据《湖南省“十四五”高等学校设置规划》新设立的公办高等职业院校，由怀化市人民政府举办，规划用地面积660亩。学院立足怀化、服务湖南、面向全国，紧密对接湖南打造国家重要先进制造业高地、怀化国际陆港建设和临港产业体系，重点培养数字信息、智能制造、商贸物流和文旅康养类高素质技术技能人才，着力打造具有鲜明“工”“商”特色，集人才培养、技能培训和技术服务于一体的职业教育高地。

Huaihua Vocational and Technical College of Commerce is a newly established public higher vocational college in accordance with the "Hunan Provincial 14th Five-Year Plan for Higher Education Institution Setting". Sponsored by the Huaihua Municipal People's Government, it covers a planned area of 660 mu. Based in Huaihua, serving Hunan and facing the whole country, the college closely aligns with Hunan's efforts to build a national important advanced manufacturing highland, the construction of Huaihua International Land Port and the port-vicinity industrial system. It focuses on cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents in digital information, intelligent manufacturing, commerce and logistics, cultural tourism and health care, striving to build a vocational education highland with distinct "engineering" and "commerce" characteristics, integrating talent training, skill training and technical services.

学院办学地点分为中方校区（湖南省怀化市中方县荆坪社区）和迎丰校区（湖南省怀化市鹤城区平安路73号），一年级学生在迎丰校区就读，其余年级在中方校区。学校主管部门为湖南省教育厅，办学层次为高职（专科），院校标识码4143014867，颁发普通高等学校全日制专科毕业证书。

The college has two campuses: Zhongfang Campus (Jingping Community, Zhongfang County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province) and Yingfeng Campus (No. 73 Ping'an Road, Hecheng District, Huaihua City, Hunan Province). Freshmen study at Yingfeng Campus, while students of other grades study at Zhongfang Campus. Affiliated to the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, the college offers higher vocational (junior college) education with the institutional identification code 4143014867, and issues full-time junior college diplomas of ordinary institutions of higher education.
