Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU) is the oldest and largest public university in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, founded in 1665 and named after its founder Duke Christian Albrecht. The "Future Ocean" initiative led by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, certified by the German Research Foundation, solidifies its international leadership in marine research.
